Peer SupportUpcoming Peer Support GroupsMonday, April 15, 2013 Women Coping with Separation & Divorce CLICK HERE to register for a Peer Support Group. Please note that you will need to enter the class start date on the registration form. Spring Groups Forming: Peer Support groups offer a safe place to discuss your feelings with other women in similar life circumstances. If you're feeling confused, overwhelmed, angry or frustrated, join a Peer Support Group. Peer Support offers discussion groups for women who share common concerns. You will have an opportunity to meet others who are experiencing normal but sometimes frustrating, confusing or distressing situations. Each group is six sessions (once a week for six consecutive weeks) and is led by two professionally trained facilitators. Sessions begin at 7:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted and are held at the NCJW Center for Women, 70 South Orange Avenue, Suite 120, Livingston, NJ 07039. Daytime Groups are also available. The fee for each six week session of a Peer Support group is $45. Women who have participated in Peer Support say... "We made new friends who understand-who we could reach out to-who share our feelings, our problems and our questions." "Just being able to compare my situation with other women in a non-judgmental setting helped me to cope." "The women in the group helped me to deal with my loneliness and feelings of anger." "I was lost and alone. The widows' group saved my life. I continue to meet with the women in my group and we have become good friends." Sample Groups:
DIVORCED WOMEN MOVING ON WOMEN CARING FOR AN ILL SPOUSE WOMEN CONTEMPLATING SEPARATION WOMEN COPING WITH SEPARATION AND DIVORCE WOMEN LIVING IN A DIFFICULT MARRIAGE WIDOWS YOUNG WIDOWS Let us know your need, and we will try to help you... we are constantly forming new groups. OFF-SITE GROUPS:Current Events Groups: Specifically for residents, these groups are held at Jewish Federation housing in West Orange and South Orange. Groups meet weekly and are free to residents. GROUPS FOR CHILDREN:RAINBOWS: Peer support groups for children ages 5-12 who are experiencing a loss from separation, divorce, abandonment or death of a family member (CLICK HERE for more details on this program).
